You know I love balms, right?

Well, I do.
Still no camera, but I have a picture of the balms that I'm currently taking everywhere with me, so it'll have to do for now.

These two are the ones that I love and use the most. They're by Figs&Rouge and they're 100% organic.
And miracle workers.

♥ The Coco Vanilla one I use it on my lips. And my face. As a moisturizer/primer.It smells divine. And some dry patches I had are gone. And the makeup applies wonderfully. Also? It saved my nose during a cold. It was a tad irritated from all the sneezing and whatnot and it calmed the skin back into top shape.
♥ The Aloe and Mint one though, is my favourite. It smells like mint ~~(obviously it does Ria, it says so)~~, and I have no idea why, it calms me down. Me and my hands and cuticles. But mostly me. That scent, gives me a warm and secure feeling. Again, no idea why. But it got me through my finals without any panic attacks. And I love it. And I might or might not have used it as a solid perfume on my wrists, as it works as one too.

They're not waxy, or runny or sticky. They've got the perfect balm formula. And the right amount of scent. And no flavour at all. Or colour. And the prettiest packaging. They should be called Little pots of heaven and come with an addictive warning. But meh...
Um... Don't have anything negative to say. I would love to see some more flavours though. Maybe a season themed balm for each season?

Anyway, I'm off to watch a movie (The Woman in Black with ~~Harry Potter~~ Daniel Radcliffe most probably). And watch the snow melt (hopefully) as it's been snowing non stop since 6 am, and I'm snowed in... Booo :(

It's been a long time, no?
Well, 2 finals and a 100 pages dissertation I'm back.
Kinda.
As on Tuesday someone stole my camera, so no new photos until further notice.
Also, I'll pick the winner of my J'Ouvert giveaway later today, and I'll notify them via email or twitter. Or both.
Um.
Pretty much that's all.
So I'll leave you with this sweet dude I found online and it's my new favourite animal species ever.
Nephrurus levis levis. It also comes in pink, orange and red.

Dear (Blog) Diary:The past few weeks I have...wishes that come true edition- make your own!

A big hello to everyone!
This has been quite a busy time, but I can say it was a good one!
So the past few weeks I have been:

{01}Snowed in.

...But someone was having fun. Lucky the dog says hi. Which meant I could not go to Uni for a couple of days. *gah*

{02}well, at the lab the other 3 days. Salamander and Mertensiella sitting!

This is Narcissa the Mertensiella. She's currently dating Lucius. Who's too much of a diva to take a pic of. The Harry Potter themed names continue in this species as well.

{03} Having a good time.

Out for a coffee with my friend Catherine. We're reading cosmo.Good times. This is her hand.

{04}Loving my new balms.

Coco Vanilla and Aloe&Mint balms by Figs and Rouge. They had a contest on facebook and twitter (and still do I believe), where you tell them ways in which you use your balms. And the best tip wins! I have been loving my Rambling rose balm from them in the past, and I now have 4 more to play with. These two are my favourties. The CocoVanilla because it has that gorgeous scent that will make you smile, and the Aloe and mint one because -it's gonna sound silly- it smells like Vicks but way lighter. And for some reason I find this scent comforting. They both do a fab job as balms. I'll do a review really really soon.

{05}Having a fairy visit.

I've been studying and studying and writing my thesis until an email arrived to my inbox...
It was the Fairy Hobmother offering me to get my wish granted. Well, believe it or not, my wish was not makeup, but books. And they arrived. The one I've already started and loving so far is "When God was a rabbit". I have it with me all the time, and read it while I'm in the bus, at uni, when I'm taking breaks from the experiments or studying and at home just before I go to sleep.
Fairy Hobmother works for Appliances Online, where you can find among other things, the Best Washing Machine. She also said that if you want to, you can make a wish and she might visit you too!

Eyeliner talk. And Snape the Salamander.

Good morning friends!

So sorry for not posting regularly, but I have way too much uni work to do, and no time to do it.

Anyway, to make it up to you, the next 3 posts will be giveaways.

But first.

Remember in my last post that I was talking about J'Ouvert cosmetics and their fab highlighter?

This time, I'll be talking about their even more fab gel eyeliners.

They come in little glass jars or 5gr each, and can be found here.

You also get a great quality angled brush with them, which is as good as my Sigma brush.

The colours I have are Black, Dark Blue, Green, Brown and purple.
The swatches below are colour accurate, first pic is in direct artificial light and the second indirect.

The brush is really really thin, and the application is great.
The eyeliner will not leave its place unless you use an oil based makeup remover or warm water and oil.
It's quite easy to work with though, but once it's there, it seriously won't go anywhere.

I use it either to make a cats eye as a liner, or smudge it and use it as an eyeshadow, that is truly intense and gives your eyes a great depth and intensity.
In the look below I used the black and purple ones combined, and worked with them on the outer part of my eyes. And the eye look stayed on all night!

Highlighter love (and a broken hygrometer)!

How is everyone doing?
It's been really really cold here the past few days, and I've been quite busy -as you could tell by the lack of posts- with uni, but today I have a day off (a broken hygrometer might or might not be the cause of this, which means no meter, no experiments, no Ria needed in the uni; at least we think it broke; it might just be out of battery...anyways) and I will do some blogging! Weeeeee!

I made the decision to experiment with more products during 2012. And by more I mean try things I've not been using for different reasons.
One of them is highlighter.
I have 2 or 3 in my collection, but usually they've been used for the inner corner of my eyes or even as an eyeshadow. But then I decided to use them for what they're made for.
And these two are the ones I use at the moment, for different reasons...

1.Benefit's High beam
A cool toned with some pink iridescence liquid highlighter. It comes in a 13 ml glass nail polish like bottle. With a nail polish brush that's supposed to help you apply it. Or in a tiny little bottle -which is the one I own- with a doe foot applicator which is also supposed to help you. Which for me it doesn't. It costs $26, £18.50 online or 27 euros I believe as I saw in greek Sephora. I'm not even gonna complain this time. They have the freaking OPI nail polishes for 17 euros, so heeeeeey, whatever.
*ahem*
So, this one works well enough, I apply it with my fingers -not even using the n.p. brush- and work with my foundation brush to make it as intense as I need to. It tends to break out my face a bit though. And it tends to get patchy. But I try to use it up, and there's not much left.

2.J'Ouvert Cosmetics Mooi Luminizing Lotion in Tan
A warm toned with gold iredescence liquid highlighter.I had not heard about J'Ouvert cosmetics since I came upon their site some time before Christmas. And I thought why not (you'll see more of this brand here really soon). It comes in a 32 ml jar with a pump. Usually I use half a pump as it is really pigmented (see below). And it costs 25 euros. I use it as I use the high beam. It does not break out my face. And I use it because it is amazing. It gives me a healthy glow look, applies and blends wonderfully and I don't think I'll get another highlighter for way too many months. The bottle is huge. Seriously. Value for money.

For the swatches I use the same amount of product, but as you can see the result of the J'Ouvert is way more intense. And in my opinion prettier.

For me the winner is obviously the Mooi lotion from J'Ouvert. But for each person things work differently so you might fall for the Benefit one as well.

In with the new #2

I hope everyone's ok and happy today.
It's nearly the weekend, my thesis is nearly over so I know I'm happy!
Today's in with the new is about a new all over miracle product; I'm sure if not all, most of you have heard of Argan oil. It's one of the ingredients of some really famous and raved hair treatment, and it's really popular in the skin care products as well. And not without reason.

The one I own is in its purest forms, just cold pressed oil.
I got it from a newly discovered site, called Raw Gaia, where they sell all kinds of natural and organic goodies, really good for you! And they're truly affordable as well, may I add, since 50 ml of this oil costs only £12.49 (plus p&p, which for Europe is £2.49) , while the hair treatments, that also contain chemicals cost way more than that.

What they say about the Argan oil:

One of the rarest oils in the world, Argan is rich in vitamin E and is ideal for skin repair. Rich in EFAs, it helps to renew cell structure and revitalize the skin. Recommended for acne, stretch marks and chicken pox and conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

The Argan tree, from the Sapotaceae family grows only in Morocco, where it has been a well kept secret, up until now known only to the Berbers in that country.

To produce Argan oil for cosmetic use, freshly harvested kernels from the fruit of the Argan tree are pressed and filtered through an organic cotton sieve, to extract the aromatic oil.

This oil works wonders on wrinkles and dry skin. Used also for the delicate care of the scalp, it restores shine to dull, lifeless hair and it strengthens brittle nails. It can also relieve the pain occurring in joints and is very good for massage.

The Argan Tree is very resistant, thriving in the aridity of the region and lives for between 150 to 200 years, surviving heat, drought and poor soil. The thorny tree reaches heights of eight to ten metres and is often twisted and gnarled, allowing goats to clamber along its branches, feeding on the leaves and fruit.

The fruit has a fleshy exterior, similar to an olive, though larger and rounder. Inside, there is a nut with an extremely hard shell. This, in turn, contains two or three almond shaped kernels.

The production of Argan Oil is mainly managed by women and is a lengthy process undertaken using traditional methods. Each nut must be cracked open to remove the kernels and it is said that to produce just one litre of this oil can take up to twenty hours of work!

So, with every product you also get info on how it's used.
From my experience so far, this thing is awesome. Even more awesome than the coconut oil, that I've been loving for a couple of years now.
I use it on my acne scars, or when my skin breaks out, on my stretchmarks, and on my hair, after I wash them. Just a tiny amount will do the work perfectly.
It has a pale yellow colour, and a not so noticeable oil smell. Kinda like olive oil, but way way less heavy. The odor is not there after the oil is applied.

How I use it:
*Face & body: apply mixed with body lotion or alone and massage onto skin. In my acne scars I use it alone.

*Hair: I use it alone on the ends of my hair or I mix less than a teaspoon of it, with 500 ml of water, mix well, and spray onto my hair. I save the rest in the refrigerator, and it's good for up to a month.

The fact that it's a carrier oil, gives you the opportunity to mix it with other carrier oils, or even essential oils (be extremely careful with these, use them in drops in the amount of carrier oil advised, or they will literally burn your skin), or in lotions that you already own. More is better, right?

The packaging is a dark coloured glass 50 ml bottle, so that the oil won't lose any of its "superpowers". It has an expiration date, which is around 2 years, and can be bought from here.

So, this week, I've been...

{01}Relaxing and pampering myself... Which includes paining my nails for the first time in 2 weeks, creating a great atmosphere -for a successful thesis writing there has to be a calm environment- with a linden bloom smelling candle, using a new lipgloss, that smells oh-so-sweet, and keeping my skin soft with a legendary product by Soap and Glory.

*I want to thank Lauren for the Soap and Glory's Righteous Butter and Lil for the Models Own lipgloss... I was lucky enough to win their giveaways, and the gifts arrived just in time for new year (they sent me a lot more than what's shown here)! Thanks again ladies!*

{02} loving the fact that this flower smells sooo good. And my whole room as well. My mom brought it to me when she came back from a walk! ♥

{03} Ummm... eating ~~or scoffing down to be more accurate~~ these. They're shells which is seafood, which is good for you! A-ha!

{04} looking for cute tins and packets to store things in. This one has all my jewellery inside.

{05} having this guy in my laptop's background. So that every time I stop writing my thesis (15 pages left to go...weeeeeeeee! ) he'll put me back to my place. Mr. Pascal the chameleon rules! And so does Tangled.

I'm gonna give all my (internet shopping) secrets away...

Another new series of posts where I'll tell you some of the places I've discovered on Ebay, that I visit quite often and my bank account loves, since I buy things I love for the fraction of the price. And I'll review something I've bought from them as well.

Shop name and link: Vanity Palace
What I buy from here: Sleek mostly, but they also sell brands like Boots 17, Hard Candy, Rimmel, Benefit, Stargazer and L'Oreal to mention some.
Why I buy from there: Dudes. The prices are low. Like really low. And the shipping is even lower.

*Exhibit*: In the Sleek official site, shipping to the UK is £2.95, to the EU €9.00 and the International delivery cost is $13. Which is not reasonable in my opinion. I mean if you only want an item, why should you pay double the price for shipping?
In this ebay site, shipping is not over £2 for the UK, and $5 tops for the palettes when shipped to the States.
And the products prices are the same or even lower than the Sleek website.

Also? They keep restocking, and you can ask the owner Kate to bring something you want in the amount of items you want. Really great customer service. And they combine shipping. And they have a facebook page where they hold competitions for some great items!

What I got from there that I love:
The infamous Sleek Rose Gold (that is almost always sold out in the official site).

It cost £4.69 and £1.75 p&p.
It arrived in Greece in 4 days and let's just say I have been wearing it almost every day since then.
It is a peachy pink colour, highly pigmented, with gold shimmer, which appears as a golden sheen/highlight on your face.

Such a gorgeous colour, dubbed as the NARS Orgasm affordable twin. The only kinda negative I can find in this is that being such a pigmented blusher you need to use the tiniest amount and blend quite a lot.

However, this is good, as it'll take you ages to hit pan. It looks good in every skin tone (I've tried it only on mine, but I've googled swatches of it and I've noticed that it looks pretty in everyone).

So you can see...it's pretty...
No need to spend money on NARS or other expensive brands when you can find dupes as good as this, no?

I hope everyone's ok and they've had a fab time on their holiday!
Today's post is a first of a series (I like beginning series of posts ~~and then I tend to forget them~~) about new things that I've started using recently.
The first is no other than Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish, hot cloth cleanser.
I mean what better way to begin a new year, other than clean, glowing skin?

I was treated to this a couple of days before Christmas, and I've been using it every night ever since.
At first I was a bit (ok, a lot) skeptical about how applying your cleanser in dry skin could work on not only cleaning my skin, but also removing any makeup I had on, waterproof mascara included...
According to the site's instructions:

Cleanse daily morning and night using this two-step process:

Step 1: Massage one or two pumps onto dry skin over face and neck twice a day.

Step 2: Rinse the pure muslin cloth in hand-hot water and wring out before gently wiping off the cream. Rinse and repeat.

Splash face with cool clean water.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Cetearyl alcohol, Cetyl esters, Sorbitan stearate, Polysorbate 60, Glycerin, Cera alba (beeswax), Propylene glycol, Humulus lupulus (hops) extract, Panthenol, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) extract, Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) oil, Limonene, Citric acid, Sodium hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dehydroacetic acid, Polyaminopropyl biguanide.

I have to mention here that the product is smooth and rich as butter, so I still could not see how it would remove anything from my face.

But oh, how wrong I was.
Once I started massaging it I could feel the makeup coming off. Even from my lashes. And I had my waterproof mascara on. It was dissolving.
And then my skin being true to itself started absorbing the product, freaking me out a bit on the removing the cleanser part.

But then came the hot cloth. You rinse the muslin cloth with warm water and polish your face with it. And since I usually have a lot of makeup on, the cloth ends up resembling modern art paintings. Which is kinda cool if you come to think of it.
And then you splash your face with cool (I prefer cold) water and you're left with clean, exfoliated (from the muslin scrubbing), fresh and bright skin.
And with bright I mean bright.

This is my face without any: foundation/primer/powder/bb cream/moisturizer/illuminator/concealer or anything else on.
I have done some eye makeup and lip balm, because I go out like this. And I love the way my skin feels and looks.

So as you have guessed this is a product that I love. Seriously. LOVE. I'll be using it forever. And ever.
And I became a Liz Earle fan.

So, in conclusion:
Pros: Everything and a cherry on top.
Cons: Duh! Nothing

I recommend this product to everyone and their mother. Literally. Since it's suitable for all ages. And since my skin that, let's say is a coquette when it comes to what's being used on it not only did it not break out, but it is happier than ever, even when I forget to moisturize, I am sure your skin will love it too!

Not the easiest of tasks ~~people I'm a gemini, I cannot pick things~~, but I said I'd do it. So here it is!

1.Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation 25 hrs in 103 true Ivory: The only foundation so far that won't look pink, orange or brown on me.
1 1/2.Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder in 001 Transparent: Well, this is not cheating, since it's always used with the above foundation. So it could be considered 1 product. Aha.
2.Garnier Roll on anti-dark circles: One of the best under eye products. Great concealer as well.
3.Hell Kat Buttercream lip scrub: See review here.
4.Spa Ritual nail polish in Endless Possibilities. Dark red. As in nearly black dark red. Awesome.
5.J'Ouvert cosmetics Gel eyeliner in black: Once it's on it won't smudge, crease or leave its place. Unless warm water and scrubbing is involved.
6.Elf Eyeshadow brush: It is the multitask brush. I have 2. One for eyeshadows and the other for concealer. As it does an excellent job there as well.
7.Billion Dollar Brows Brow brush:2 in 1 brush. Occasionally used to apply my gel eyeliner with.
8.EOS Tangenine Medicated lip balm: Keeps my lips smooth and tastes and smells lovely!
9.NYX round lipstick in Summer Love: My perfect nude lipstick. I was using it all summer long and I keep using it now as well!
10.Sleek Blush in Rose Gold: This is pretty. Oh so pretty! This is pretty and shimmery and Orgasm-dupeeee!
11.Sigma Miss Taylor Kabuki:Used to apply powder, foundation or blush. Whatever I feel like at the day.

I can tell you that there are way more products I didn't include, either because they're recent purchases or because I don't know where on earth they are at the moment. I don't tag anyone, but if anyone wants to do this, go ahead and write the link to your post in the comments.

So that was it for 2011.
Beauty irrelevant but this was the year I met some of the best and the worst people I know and learned a lot about myself! And that a lot of things happened and I'm glad they did.

For 2012 I wish to you and yours to be happy. Simple as that. And I resolve to nothing to be honest. Living 1 day at a time is the best I believe.

Garnier BB cream event and review!

Around a week ago, a few greek beauty bloggers were kindly invited to Garnier's house in Thission Lofts, to be introduced to their newest and most innovative product, the Garnier Miracle skin Perfector.

Which is a 5 in 1 BB cream.
BB -which stands for Blemish Balm- creams were originally made by a dermatologist to aid the healing of scars, acne or other blemishes, while protecting, soothing, refining and lightly covering them.
They've been known to Asia for quite a few years now, and then they arrived to the rest of the world.
In the event we were greeted by the fab Garnier team, who made sure that all of us would have an amazing time.
There was a rock Santa...

Great music...

Yummy treats...

I mean there were even BB gingerbread men! And coffee! And a really warm and friendly atmosphere!

And there were bloggers!

The Garnier team!

They told us some interesting facts about the BB cream, gave us some inside info about future *really exciting* releases and were really helpful answering any questions we had.

Now onto the review:

The cream comes in a 50 ml tube, and has a mousse like texture.

It has a subtle smell, quite fruity and I could most certainly say it's the Garnier signature scent.

The good stuff:
It's really easy to blend and it leaves your skin glowing (the vitamin C it contains helps with that)!
It does contain mineral pigments, and gives sheer coverage, hydrates and has SPF 15 which makes it ideal for an everyday cream. It gives you what your moisturizer and a sheer foundation give you in one product, with way less money (as it is sold for only around 10 euros). And can be used before you put your foundation on as a hydrating primer, or alone (as I used it on Christmas day, in the picture below). And it did not make my skin break out in the 2 weeks I'm using it. Which made me glad, as my skin is usually going crazy whenever it feels like it.

The not so good:
It only comes in 2 shades. Light and medium. The light one, which I'm using is a bit dark on me (I'm a NC15, so I'm white). And it can get a little bit too shiny after 6 hours or more of wearing it, but not oily.
All in all this is a good product for a day out when you don't want to wear too much make up but want to have something on to make your skin look fresh.

We all know by now that blogger eats posts.
Or forgets to post them even if we beg it.
The fave lippies post was one of them.
Pfffft.
And because I'm pretty tired at the moment to re-write the whole thing, I'll post only about my favourite red lip colour.
Which is no other but Sleek's pout paint in Pin up.

According to me:
Duuuuude!
I love this stuff! It's not a lipstick or a lipgloss or a lip tint oranything like it.
It's a paint. For the lips. Which stays on for hours (12 to be exact as tested today). It's not drying (or moisturizing for that matter). It stains your lips and it fades away to a pretty subtle colour in the end of the day. It survived tests like white coffee cup (no lip prints on the cup), drinking juices and said coffee, eating cookies, applying lipbalm. The colour was there.
And what a colour it is... True cherry red. Which goes really well apparently with my ~~white as a freaking ghost~~ fair skin.

Application wise, as the Sleek dudes say, a little goes a long way, and as I say, it stains. So, apply with a lip brush the tiniest amount you can get, or if you're feeling *that* brave, try applying with your fingers.
Seriously. A little. A long way.

Christmas guide #4 : Slytherins

I know I said I'd post this on Thursday, BUT life got really busy.

I am (according to Pottermore and most of the tests I've taken) a Slytherin, so may I present you with... what a Slytherin could/would/should wear on Christmas.

You know when some perfumes are made for winter/autumn and some are for spring/summer?

This one belongs to the first category.

I mean it is such a warm and comforting perfume...
It makes you wanna relax, with a hot cup of tea and read a good book by the fireplace.
At least that's the image and feeling that I get from it.
And I have not done the above while wearing it.

On me it begins sweet and warm. It has an elegant sweetness though. And then after half an hour you're left with a baby powder-like smell but on the sweet side, and with some of the notes of wood and flowers remaining there.
It features strong notes of (from what I could tell) amber, magnolia, jasmine, had the element of the wood, honey and sandalwood; but not overwhelming at all, which could be easily expected with all the spices. It's an amazing perfume, and one of my favourite winter wears. And I'm not one of the people who love every perfume there is ~~hear that Marc Jacobs and your Daisy perfume?~~.
I would say though that is not a light perfume and it's best suited for nights out.
I mean mine and my "nights out shoes" are best friends. As you can see from the picture below.

But I also wear it in the morning if I cannot find one of my "daytime" perfumes. Which happens often. But it's ok, since heavy perfumes (ok, not all, this and my beloved Chanel 5) smell like baby powder/Dove soap/freshness after a while.

...and then discovering I was out of nail polish remover, so I went around for a couple of days with skittle nails!

...this one is Mulberry by Sleek, used with a very light hand and blended in really well (and apparently no other makeup soo excuse the ghost face).

Favourite lip balms. A/W 2011/12 edition.

Hello friends!
I hope everyone's fine.
Today's post will be a follow up of the previous one, on how to keep your lips smooth and happy during the cold months.
I have 6 lip balms (or 5 balms and a lip shine) that I love and trust, and I've picked to be my favourites among -trust me on this- many.
These are:

I've separated them into 3 groups, according to what I love about them. ~~Because I separate things like that.~~

Group 1: The naturals (They're good for you and almost all natural)
2,4.

2 is my most favourite lip balm. In. The. World.
It's by Crazy Rumors and it's the French Vanilla Perk. Imagine a Vanilla latte. The wonderful smell... The yummy flavour... Now remove its calories and add moisturizing factors. That's this lip balm.
4 This one is almond oil. In a balm.
It's by Hurraw, and it's the almond lip balm. It smells like bitter almond and tastes like nothing. Literally. Nothing. I love how its packaging is different than the typical balm one.

Group 2: The tasty enough to eat (And the ones that make me lick my lips because of how they taste)
2,3,5,6.

2 as above.
3 is a lip shine. A minty lip shine. A sweet mint lip shine.
Co Bigelow's Mentha lip shine. Who needs gum when you have this? It smells great, tastes great, gives you a cooling feeling when you apply, soothes your lips, and works as a chewing gum, giving you a minty fresh breath.
5 tangerine. Bubblegum. In a sphere.
Well, remember I hated the EOS lipbalm in Honeysuckle? I love this one. It's the medicated tangerine EOS lip balm. It has all that your lips need when e.g. you have a cold. It has things in it that fight the bacteria and the bad things away from your mouth AND other things that keep your lips smooth.
And it's orange. And it looks cool.
6 Sugar coated violets, that make your lips fab.
Pop beauty's petal jam in Bursting Violet tastes sweet. Maybe too sweet for some. And smells like violets and sugar and nice things. Works great as a cuticle balm as well.

Group 3: The heavy duty ones (or the ones that I use when things get really bad)
1,5

5 as above.
1 is a little tube that noone thinks it'll work. Being from Sephora and all...
But it damn does. It's the Save my lips nourishing lip balm by Sephora Express. This one comes out when everything else fails. It's a bit grainy, it doesn't look like any lipbalm you've seen (it looks like paste; white; can't describe it really) and it's a balsam for your lips. It smells and tastes kinda sweet but it works wonders in my opinion. I use it for example when I have tonsillitis and no matter what else I use my lips won't cooperate.

Baby it's cold outside... (and what happens when I do go out)

...and this could only mean one thing.
Ok many things, but let's focus on one.
Chapped lips.
The nightmare of everyone who wants to look good with a lipstick or without one. Or has a date.
You get the point.

Part of the solution is using the right lipbalm. Or balms. Which will be my next post with some of my faves.
Before using a balm though, the dead skin that makes the lips ugly has to disappear.
And that leads us to lip scrub.
I've tried the home made ones (aka honey and sugar) but guess what is left after it...
A mess.
And it can't be stored.
So you have to try again and again to find the perfect amount of each to add.

And then I tried the one by Lush...
Waaaay too sweet. And with some weird things in it, one of which is called Aurora Pink. And quite expensive.

And then I found the HellKat cosmetics' Buttercream flavoured one.
And it's awesome. Just that.
According to the site:

Use this Lip Scrub in to exfoliate your lips! Follow up with your favorite Lip Balm to leave them feeling great all day long.

It looks like yellow butter mixed with sugar.

I either use my fingers to do the scrubbing or put some on my lips and I do trout pout faces.

Or use an old toothbrush.

And then I leave it on until the grains (aka sugar) has melted.

I use it every couple of days...

And I've been using it since September and it's still more than half full.

And then my lips look this soft... Without any balm!

You see because of all the oils and butters it also moisturizes my lips back to perfect condition.

Also?

The packaging is purrrfect!

And it smells and tastes like buttercream...

(Yes, it's safe to lick your lips instead of using a cloth to remove it...unless you're alergic. In which case don't do it.)

(A little birdie also told me that Coconut, Coffee and Chocolate flavored scurbs are on their way)

Back to basics...(skincare routine)

Hello friends!

I hope everyone's fine.
For the first post of the "new" blog I decided to go for something basic.
Skincare.
I don't use a lot of products I must admit.

And those I do use, I usually change them, because my skin decides to show me that it's a well spoiled brat and will break out at random, if I continue to use a product that for one reason or another decides it doesn't like.

I've said goodbye to expensive creams I'm telling ya (Vichy, Korres, Dior, Estee Lauder have all been rejected for reasons unknown) as well as makeup (Benefit foundation and smashbox primer), because of my skins attitude.
But lately, I've been using these (pictured below), and I must admit it's happy-go-lucky.

{Purity facial moisturiser for sensitive skin}
The moisturiser texture is really thick. Imagine buttery. But it's not oily at all. And it gets absorbed really fast, leaving me with smooth sking. And no scent. At all. The ingredients are 98% natural and 85% organic and it has coconut oil (which I love), sweet almond oil (miracle ingredient as well) and vitamin E (the protector of your skin) among its ingredients.

{Purity facial wash}
I use this every evening after I take off my makeup (in the morning I just use water) to cleanse my face and then I use the moisturiser from the same brand. It does a great job in cleaning anything my makeup remover leaves behind and won't dry my skin -I might have forgotten to use moisturiser a couple of times, but skin was a-ok-.

{Neutrogena soap}
*not pictured, it's an orang-ish clear soap*
I've raved about this one before. It can be a tad drying, so I use it every other day.

{Rescue oil}
This is my emergency product. It calms my skin after a breakout, noutrishes it and does some serious damage control if I've eg.slept under the sun, managed to make a scratch or completely dehydrate my skin (aka swimming in a pool and then sunbathing anyone?). I also use it on my body in stretchmarks -works wonders-, scars -I'm a clutz- etc. It has natural oils, vitamins and other good for your skin things, in high concentration, so you don't need to use much of it. I use this whenever I need to. It has a weirdish smell though. Grandma-ish. But heeeeey, it works, so it stays.

{Garnier roll ons}
The green one is for puffy eyes, the golden one is for dark circles. They work. I use the anti-dark circles one as a concealer as well and it does a great job. I use them at will -aka ooooh, look I have puffy eyes *takes roll on out of bag*-.

{Purity facial exfoliator}
It exfoliates using coconut shell, and soothes your skin with Aloe Vera and Coconut oil. I use it every other day as well, not because it isn't soft enough, but because I don't think I need everyday exfoliation.

I also have one day per week, where I don't use anything at all on my skin. I don't know if it's good or bad, but letting it be doesn't harm it.

You can find the purity skincare range *here*, the neutrogena soap and garnier roll ons at a pharmacy and the rescue oil on *ebay*. All the products are on the cheap side but they're amazing.

So that's my routine.

Hello!
So today's post will be a quick one.
Some time ago I won from a facebook competition 3 pretty lip products.
It was from myface.cosmetics and they're lush to say the least.
Their products are according to skin tones. I didn't believe it would make a difference, but it does. I chose fair, because, at the time being I'm quite pale.
So the swatches of what came into my mailbox are:

Isn't the glitter in the lipgloss really pretty? Fairydust category pretty!
The lipstick stays on for ever (ok, nearly forever, I've been wearing it while studying and drinking coffee and munching snacks and it survived the process) and it looks great.
Pigmentation wise, what you see in the swatches are 1 swipe, no primer, no nothing, and on the lips they look great.
And the face of the day (aka Blinc mascara, and these three, no foundation or anything else, so excuse the dark circles and spots, skin's gone a bit crazy due to the exams) is:

In other news, tomorrow is the next exam in Biochemistry.
I'm pretty sure if there's a question about lipsticks, I'll get an A+.

Dear YSL...you're kidding me right?

I mean you made the Volupte Sheer Candies.
I was all oooooh and aaaaah when I saw the pretty packaging and the colours in the tubes and I thought heyyy, birthday week is near (the whole thing happened 3 weeks ago), so I deserve a treat.
You know.
Exams and birthday and all.
So I bought it.
$30 or in Greek Sephora 34 euros.
But let's not get into the whole "what kind of an idiot does the math in these conversions".
No.
I'll stick to the product.
I got no1, called Lush Coconut. No idea why.
It smells like mango mixed with almonds.
It feels like a heavy lip balm on the lips.
It also says it gives 8 hours hydration to your lips. *ahem-it sooo doesn't*
And it's a really close dupe for my Bourjois lipstick I bought for a few euros on ebay.
I mean seriously.

If not that much here, then let's see the swatches.

It's even sheerer than the bourjois. The YSL is on the top, the Bourjois (Sable Fin/Lovely Brille series) one is in the bottom.
I can promise you that on the lips they're the same. They give a bit of a sheen glow, which with the YSL you cannot built up, but with the Bourjois you can.
And don't even think of using the YSL under or over another lipstick. It won't even show.
Pfit.
So if you don't like wasting your money don't buy it. Buy a gloss. Mix it with a balm. And ta-daaaaa!

In other news, I love my pedi!

It's a really lovely bright orange by Mememe Cosmetics and it's called Spirited.
I love it!

And I only have 1 and a half weeks of exams left.
Woohoo!

Hey guys!
Studying has been taking almost all of my time, so I thought I'd take a tiny break to do a post.
And show you some things from the past week or so:
1.

My nails. At first they were like the 1st pic (a beautiful peachy nude by Pupa -and a big thank you to a blog friend who gave this to me-) and then I decided to add some crackle nail polish to them. And I thought that the silver one by P2 I have would look good. And I think it did.
2.

This is what one of my books looks like. The artwork is all mine. Give me crayons and I'm 5 again.

3.Blackberries! We apparently have them in our garden. I found out 2 days ago.Nom!

4.I have 2 new blushers! One by MAC (that I treated myself in my birthday) and one by NYX (that I found one night while searching for stuff online and I had to have).

Cool info of the week: Your brain needs glucose to function right. It cannot burn things in order to get the energy it needs, so glucose is the way to go.

And exams means the brain needs extra glucose (aka sugary stuff).

Heyyyyy everyone!

I hope everyone is good. I'm sorry I've been MIA but the exams started one week earlier that we expected, so guess who had a mini freak out session.

Ok, don't guess.

It was me.

And they'll be on until the 8th of July, but from the 20th of June things will calm down.

And I'll be able to blog again.

Until then I have an exam on Tuesday, on Thursday, 2 on Friday, but I don't really mind because it's my birthday and the questions will be easy (please Universe? as a birthday gift? Kthxbai.) and one on Monday.

And then freedom for 2 days.

And let's change the topic.

So, my giveaway for the Sigma Miss Taylor Kabuki brush ended on the 5th, and today I had some time to count the entries and pass it on to random.org, so a winner will be picked.

I love reptiles (my new favourite animal group) and I have a bunch of them around the house (I live in the country, they are free, not in a cage or anything), so I caught one...

May I introduce you to Mr.Sami (or a member of the Hemidactylus turcicus species). He's a cutie, isn't he? And he bit me twice, because apparently little lizards bite.

On my nails was Vivacious, -which at night and under the specific light I took the pic looks coral- and she helped me catch Mr.Sami.

I found you! (Or the post where I declare my love for a soap)

So when I was a teenager I had a not so good case of acne. And oily skin.
And then one day, I walked into a pharmacy and I was introduced to a soap. It was orange and see through. And it was by Neutrogena. And I started using it after having given up on many pharmacy brand products.Which had done nothing.

Thing is...
This thing worked. I mean in a week my skin was clearer, the oiliness was gone, but my skin was not left dry. Instead it was really smooth and happy.
The love story went on for a year.

And then the dudes here discontinued it. No idea why. I mean I was buying it. (Ahem...)

Pfff...
My skin had cleared up by then, so occasional break outs were treated with lots of patience and benzoic and salicylic acid on the spots, leaving my skin ultra dry. And causing some really nice scars while they were there.The dermatologist though insisted on me continuing to use them, because dry is good.
*shakes fist at dermatologist*

I was remembering the old days, since my skin has gone crazy due to anxiety, and I was on ebay when I was doing this, so I searched for Neutrogena.
And I founnd it.
And it arrived.
And I'm sooo happy!

It comes in a 100 gr bar, so there's a lot of stuff to use, and it costs around $3 (and whatever they charge you to send it). But I knew it is good so I didn't mind the extra cost. I payed 5 euros for it (about the price I was paying in the pharmacy).
Ingredient wise this is what it has in it:

Triethanolamine, TEA Stearate, Sodium Tallowate, Glycerin, Water, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Ricinoleate, Sodium Oleate, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Stearate, BHT, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Trisodium HEDTA, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate

It has lots of glycerin and other ingredients to take the extra oil off your face, and nothing in there to annoy your skin.
I have used it 2 nights in a row, after my make up remover, and went to sleep right after.
Waking up, my skin was not oily or dry(usually around my nose there's some oil and my forehead is dry for its own reasons). It was just normal...
Some spots that had been doing a party on my face started to pack their things and are ready to go.

And I'm happy to find my love again.

A summer haul. pt.1

Hello loves!
This past week uni work was crazy, and this week it'll be crazier.
But, I will plan some programmed posts today, because I don't like not blogging.
So be prepared!
Anyway, crazy work stressed me out, and a great way to relax was to shop.
Which I did.
I bought things that I'll be using to prepare for summer and during summer.
First things I bought were some self tanners.

1.Garnier summer body moisturising lotion, deep sun-kissed. Although the people here translated it in dark complexions. Hmmm.
2.L'Oreal Nutri Bronze Light self tanner.
Let's aaaall keep fingers crossed I don't end up looking like an oompa loompa with these 2.

And the rest of the haul is lip products. And I've done swatches.

The lip tint.

I know it's supposed to be a Christmas only tint. But, I love that smell. And the name. And Christmas. So you get the point. Thank God for online shopping.

It's such a pretty pink colour. I love how it looks on my cheeks and on my lips. And it smells like bubblegum meet vanilla meet snow fairy. I love it!
...And finally the lipsticks.

Bourjois Lovely Brille in Sable Fin
And swatched...

Eucalyptus is a purple based fuchsia that I believe looks like MAC's Snow Orchid.
Spell Bound is a warmer fuchsia that I just love for every day.
Both last really long and are moisturising, as all NYX round lipsticks are.
Sable Fin is quite sheer, but it is a lovely nude with shimmer in. It lasts quite long as well and does not dry the lips.

So that was the 1st part of my summer haul.

Expectations in high and low.EOS lipbalm and Sephora nail polish

You all know which lipbalm I'm talking about.
The one shaped like an egg. And it's a yellow/green egg. That people rave about.

So I had really high expectations for this one.
And I payed quite a bit for a lipbalm in order to have it shipped over, since EOS is not for sale in my side of the world.

And I was sooo happy when it came in the mail. I had the lipbalm that was going to be my HG lipbalm, the captain of my lipbalm squad. And then *poof*.
The dream bubble burst and I was left with a lipbalm that smelled good, tasted good and lasted for one hour. Tops. And that did almost nothing for my lips moisturizing wise.

And by almost nothing I mean my lips were ok for about an hour after it faded, but then they felt way too dry. Which they don't do when I use other lipbalms, like my trusted Korres or Crazy rumors or even my petal jam ones.

*sigh*

It is pretty though. And I'll keep using it to see if it will come to its senses and give me the most moisturized lips ever. And because I tend to want to make products work no matter what. And it smells and tastes pretty damn good.

And then while I was at Sephora some days ago I found a Sephora tiny nail polish that costed 1 euro. And it was in black. And I have a thing for black or really dark nail polishes at the moment, so I thought why not?

Really low expectations for this one.
I mean it was cheap. And in a small bottle.
But this is how it looks 3 days after I painted my nails.
And it's 1 coat.

Application was perfect, no chipping yet and it's so shiny!
I love it!

We all know it's April. Spring. Light mood, birds singing, flowers blooming, aaaaah, the joy!

Forget that.
Ok, not you, but it seems that someone forgot it.
It's been raining here non stop here for the past 3 days, Chris said it's snowing where she lives, so it seems like the weather has forgotten to switch to spring mode.

This is the happiest song for me. It reminds me of a happy sunshiny day out. No idea why.

Baby, I'm addicted...(pic heavy)

To lots of things I have to admit.

During the weekend though (partly because it was Easter and all) I discovered that I am addicted to:

1.Chocolate (whoever's on diet scroll down now)

Chocolate eggs in different sizes, Cadbury's buttons and Ferrero Rochers.
Nom.
2.Anything red. It was Easter after all...

Red eggs.It's a Greek Easter tradition to paint hard boiled eggs red, and then have "egg fights".

My new tote with a huge red heart!

Red nails. Messy as usual. "I'm not really a waitress" by OPI.

Red Aztec sunglasses by Paola Loves to shop. I just love their sunglasses.
LOVE them.

3.Blushes. I'm pale. It's spring. I don't want to go out scaring people looking like a ghost. At least with blushes on I look like a cute ghost.

And then I go ooooh, I know, I'll have something warm to help me sleep...

It had to be coffee for some reason, in a cute (red) mug...
Which of course did not help me sleep, so I'm still up.
But!
I got to watch the sunrise!

Oh it was so beautiful outside!

5.I'm also addicted to my new necklace which I made. Kinda. I just bought a tiny sterling silver cube with a letter on it (the letter is E, because my name is Eleftheria, but I shortened it to Ria) and a chain. And voila.

Violets are blue?...

Hello loves!
How's everyone doing on this Friday?
I'm having a pretty relaxed day so far, I decided to take a day off any uni projects, or chores or anything stressful and just enjoy the day.
So about the title of the post...
I have been using a lipbalm for some time now and I love it. I got it with another favourite product from Tantric Kisses (and it was cheaper than the official pop beauty site).
And it smells and tastes like sugar coated violet petals. It has the magic power of relaxing me, as well as softening my lips (or cuticles or hands or you name it-this magic balm does it).
It has an amazing smell, and a really sweet and strong flavour, which even though I love, I don't think it'd suited to everyone's taste.

It comes in a glass jar, really cute and quite big for a lip balm. The product itself is not solid. It's jelly cubes that you mix together, while using it.

I know some might say it's not hygenic etc but, if your hands are clean (and I wash mine all the time, mind you, studying biology has taught me a few things about microbes), there's no problem at all.

It gives your lips a tiny bit of a violet shine, not color, and leaves them soft, and leaves you with a sugary flavour as well.

I works quite well as a cuticle balm or for any dry parts (eg. elbows, or even face) for that matter.
So, now for the blue part...
I painted my nails in a new colour, by a greek company, called Seventeen and it's a metallic blue with some purple shimmer, and it has a matte finish. The pictures are 1 coat, no top coat, and messy as usual.

I think I may have discovered the violet nail polish. It does look like a violet, no?
Other than these two, today I took a walk in the wild (read our garden), since it's earth day and all, and I came upon this little guy.

But then I tickled him ( you should not tickle a hedgehog unless you know how to), and he showed more of himself...

And that made me smile...
Now I'm off to read a new book I bought...

I love Sophie Kinsella!
And then I might use the Rock Star soap that Karen sent me when I won her giveaway, which has been used as a room perfume since then, because it smells soooooooo good!

Inspired by Nature.

While doing some innocent internet window shopping in etsy, ebay, asos and bigcartel, I found myself looking for things inspired by nature.
Large stones (semiprecious in beautiful colours, and different shapes, but either way BIG statement ones) and Feathers (in usual, like jewlery and unusual places), Bugs and Leaves.
Here are some of my findings, which make me happy just by looking at them (and I might be buying soon).

1.These rings. This etsy store currently has a 15% discount. So you will see a post soon about these rings.

2.This necklace. A gold ant in a glass bottle. Unique.

3.This pendant. Stones on metal. Love it.

4.This headband. Will make you look like a nymph of the forests. That cool.

5.These shoes. They're a work of art. Handmade. No other accessory needed.

*sigh*

Skincare & haircare haul.And a guest appearance by Nina.

Hello my beauties!
Yesterday was the last day of the uni before Easter.
A lab got cancelled, so I took this opportunity, to go for a walk with a friend and then go shopping.
Some of the things I bought, I buy them for the first time, and others for the 3rd time.

1.Korres toning shampoo with rice proteins and oligoelements for fine and fragile hair.

This is my HG shampoo. For real. It's the third time I'm buying it, and it works wonders on my hair. It makes them silky smooth, with great volume and no need for a conditioner. Even though I do use my coconut oil mask once a week, I believe that just by using this shampoo my hair will be in great form.

2.Korres 3 in 1 cleansing emulsion

It's the second time buying this one. It works great with my skin, removing all the dirt and leaving it smooth and clean. It's great for even waterproof makeup and it's one of the few cleansers that won't make my skin go all crazy and oily on me.

3.Apivita cocoa butter with beeswax and olive oil, SPF 20

It's not a HG lipbalm, but it works great as a lip primer, so since I couldn't find the one I had I re-bought it. It smells like cocoa butter, and it will make your lips soft. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has an ingredient which is also found in animal fat. I am a vegeterian. You get the point.

But then I got home and I found the old one, so this one is going to a friend.

4.Aqualia Thermal face cream by Vichy

I needed a new face cream, since the old one hit pan and a sub I had gave me a great deal of face scare -read: 8 spots appeared one morning, and some dry patches as well, and I freaked out- so I bought this, after the pharmacist told me it's a really light cream, which could be used as a day or a night cream. So far so good with this one. I'm happy to report that my skin is getting back to the good condition it had before the freak out.

5.Garnier anti-dark circles roll on

2 of my blogger friends swear by this. Greek Cosmo beauty editor being one of them. I had to have it. I got the one for fair skin and I've used it twice. It is awesome. I mean as a concealer it covers undereye circles like no other, and it also (because of the caffeine it has) works towards their vanishing. It has a metallic sphere, so it does a gentle massage as well.

I think this might be a HG product. I'll report in a few weeks time with the results.

In other news, as I also said I went for a walk with a friend. You know how when you're friends with someone and there's a long time since you've last seen them and you meet and it's like nothing has changed?

That's the case here. Sooo may I introduce you to my friend Nina.

I have no idea why we're looking in different directions. But it's something we do in all our pics. We did our thesis in the same lab and everytime we meet we go from 24 to 5 years old. And have a blast. Even if we're in a bus stuck in traffic for an hour.

I'm pretty sure she'll kill me when she sees this. But then I'll go all puppy dog eyes on her. And she'll forget she wanted to kill me :p

Owls are gold, Tiffany's is blue and I'm random.

So 2 days ago I got an email that ASOS.com has a 50% sale.
And I went to take a look.
I promise I didn't intend to buy anything, but these somehow ended up in my cart. And are on their way to me.

1. A sovereign ring. It has an owl on it. I had to have it.
2.A tiny hearts necklace. Too cute to say no to.
3.A golden hearts headband. Again. Cute.

And (again thanks to a blogger fairy) I discovered a nail colour that is really close to the famous Tiffany's Blue. (Or a close dupe to Bella's Choice by H&M or For Audrey by China Glaze; two colours that I absolutely love but I cannot have. *sigh*) It's by Erre Due (a greek brand) and it's the number 133.

I love this colour. I really do. And it's lasted quite long as well (since Saturday, chipless). And it's got a great shine. But please Erre Due. Give your nail polishes names. I will love you even more then.

Also, yesterday was my blog's birthday. (And the end of my giveaway. Winners will be selected soon via random.org.) Thanks for the company the past year my dudettes! I've had (and keep having) a great time in the blogland thanks to you. I've met incredible people, and I hope I'll meet more!

5. You know that fairies exist, don't you? I had the opportunity to have coffee with one of the blogger fairies this week, and she waved her magic wand, and my nails were painted in Bourjois Bleu Asphalte So Laque! nail polish. It's a shiny dark gray, and it has lasted from Wednesday until today.Without chipping.

6. Nature shows she's truly a woman. Gorgeous and really strong. This pic was taken in my rock garden. This pretty anemone grew literally inbetween rocks. And it becomes more and more beautiful by the day.

This has been a really busy week.
Busy meaning I left 6 am and got back home 9pm most of the days; that's one of the reasons of no new posts.
Another reason is that I decided that I didn't like the way the blog was. It's all over the place. So on the blog's anniversary, almost all of the old posts will be gone. And there'll be more room for new.

Still got the blue(s)...for summer love!

So today was one of those days...
The days that I had to have the same color on my nails and on my eyes.

And it was Blue!

As for my lips, I still want summer to come soon, so I picked Summer Love by NYX.
So this is a (tired) face of the day...
On my face I used:
Korres tinted moisturiser SPF 30,
17 cosmetics Blush in First Kiss (This is awesome!!I'll do a review soon)
Undereye circles, all by being tired.

On my eyes I used Eyeko's Graffiti Eyeliner in Navy Blue, which is supposed to be eye brightening...
I can't help but to agree with them.
And my Maybelline Falsies Mascara. I thought I'd give this one a second chance, since I hadn't used it for a couple of months, because I decided that I hated it.
I still hate it.
Pf.

For the lips, I thought nude would look good with blue eye makeup, so it would be either Summer Love or Rea.
I picked Summer Love, because it's a brighter colour than Rea, more pink based than orange based, and for its name.

...and a swatch:

It's almost my skin color, which is another reason to love it.
I can use it as a lip concealer, since my lips are quite pigmented on their own, so some colours don't show up as nice as I'd like them to.
And on my nails...
Illamasqua's Muse.
It's my first Illamasqua anything...
And I love it!
It's a dusty teal, really really pretty that does not stain!

I've been buying stuff, Narcissus lipstick, and puppies!

After the exams ended I wanted to go and buy shoes.

Mainly high boots.

But then the weather became better...

So I bought short boots. 2 pairs. That I'll be wearing with leggings and skirts and cute dresses until it gets really sunny and hot outside.When I'll be wearing flip-flops all day! Yaaay for flip flops!

*Ahem*

I do get carried away pretty easily, don't I?

As you may notice the one is a high heeled one. If I break/sprain/hurt my ankle it'll be because of that.

And the shoe store was really close to an H&M one... So I went in and got a pretty -huge- scarab ring...

This dude was 3 euros...reduced from 7.And he was the only one left, so since I've been doing a paper on bugs, I took him!

And a cute bracelet, which resembles the Chan Luu Wrap Bracelets I've been wanting lately. Thing is that this costs 3 euros, and the Chan Luu cost around $190. So, until I become a millionaire, or get out of the "student" status, I'll stack these ones...

And I had only 1 makeup item on my face while shopping...

Narcissus Lipstick by NYX.

It's a part of my latest NYX haul, where I got my "spring colours".

As you can see it's a bubblegum pink!

Which is supposed to be a Viva Glam Gaga dupe.
It's not sheer, by any way, but it has some application issues.
It's not that creamy, it is moisturising though.
I've also used it as a blush and it looks great!

On another note, I know I've been a bit MIA lately, which partly is because of these beauts!

These are the 2 new additions to my family!
2 beautiful girl puppies...
Someone who thinks they're human left them, when they were some days old in a field near our home.
I don't like people that do that.
I actually hate them.
But now I have 2 new pups!
Mr Lucky the dog is afraid of them, and they think he's their mom, so you can guess how many hours of fun watching them is :)
I've been taking them to the vet and taking care of them, so that's why I didn't have much time.
This and uni work.

Oh!
I also have a new pair of sunglasses.
I have a 3 month subscription to Paola Loves to Shop sunglasses of the month club.
Which stands for receiving a new pair of sunglasses for $9 and around $5 (for my country) postage.
This month I got these fab green Wayfarers.
And I've been wearing them since St.Patty's day.
Being green and all.
AND I've been getting better in making silly faces!

I'm winking and playing fish.My open eye looks like it's yellow.I have Narcissus on my lips and don't wear any other makup.Muah!

I'm preparing some programmed posts, because with the puppies and the uni work and the job I have (I've been tutoring a kid.Me.I hate kiiids.Ok not all of them...But this specific one...Oooh God! One day it was throwing little dynamites towards me.He's 13.And doesn't want to learn.You can see where this will end up, can't you?) I don't know how much time there's gonna be for blogging.
For me blogging=relaxing, so I'll relax as much as I can for now.

So this will be a fashion post...
This week I'm in a mood for casual, elegant, kinda simple, but with touches of luxury clothing...
So my outfit will resemble this:

And by resemble I mean that the things in the pic will be duped. Except for the benefit lipstick (thanks to Karen for this).Ι love the combination of worn out jeans (bought mine here), with elegant shoes, a plain white sweater, pearls, a pretty scarf, nude nail polish and a vest with fake fur to keep me warm as the weather is crazy...
The jeans might be replaced with sweatpants, or a pretty skirt and the sweater will change colour (from white, to dark green to black).

The coy-princess and the oomph!

Ok, the title could or could not make sense right now.
But Coy, Princess and Oomph are the names of 3 pretty new products, I'll do a review on today.
Coy Dew Drop Moisturizing Lipstick, Princess Couture Pout Mineral Lipgloss and Oomph Cheeky Powder Blush by F.Y.F. (Flawless You Forever) cosmetics.

F.Y.F. Cosmetics is a relatively unknown brand (at least to me), but I love trying new things, so I gave these a go and I was surprised.
In a very pleasant way!
The quality is really great (as they're made by skincare specialists), the prices are quite reasonable -lipgloss $18, lipstick $14, blush $17- (considering they have free worldwide shipping, and that in my country drugstore brands cost more than that most of the times, and that they're easily comparable to high end products), and they have a good selection of shades available, and they also have a great mineral line.They have no scent or flavour (talking about the lip products), and they do not test on animals.
Also?It's a brand that does good, as they donate percentage of their profits to charities!
The packaging is cute and simple.
Lipgloss:
A square tube, see-through, so you can see the real colour of the product.

Lipstick:
Imagine the MAC lipstick packaging.
Remove the rounded top.

Swatches.In sunlight direct and indirect.

As you can see they're all really pigmented.
Coy is a pinkish nude, really moisturizing, long lasting great for everyday lipstick, that does not make you look dead (like many other nude lipsticks do) no matter what your skin shade is.

It can be even more gorgeous when combined with the princess lipgloss (aka the Coy-Princess).

The Oomph blush is great to wake your face up. It's a peachy pink pretty blush. You have to be careful though, as it really is pigmented. And it has micro glitter in, which reflects the light and makes your face shine!

In my opinion it's a dupe for NARS Super Orgasm blush. Just a tad more pink in this one.
I'll do a FOTD tomorrow featuring all these three products and a comparison between Oomph and Super Orgasm.

Stealing it with a twist...

The other day I was over at Cel's blog and I saw her Chanel Riva post.
And I decided to copy her.
Because, we're in the same country, aka same weather, and we have pretty much the same taste in polishes.
But since I don't own Riva, I'm stealing her idea, twisting it, dupe-ing it, and I present you with...
Eyeko pastel polish!

It's been in my stash for a long long time (as you can see half of the bottle is gone already), and I wear it when I'm in a mood for something elegant, soft, and oh so pretty and I want nice nails, short or long.
Right now they're short.
Because of the dark purple nail polish-turning my nails orange fail of the other day.
Enjoy!
2 coats, went on smoothly, and made me happy for once more!

Inside, artificial light/no flash-Excuse the mess in the cuticles.They don't like the lemon I used for de-staining, and they don't react well to acetone.Or polish.Pf.

It's a pale baby blue with gray and pretty green/blue tiny shimmer in it.

Sweet (NYX) Louisiana

So remember a few posts ago, when I bought some NYX lipsticks?
Well, I bought some more.
6 to be exact.
It could be called an addiction to pretty things, but I just call it strong interest.

Since hot pink and fuchsia are the perfect colours for spring, I thought this time I'd buy some lipsticks to brighten up my face and my mood.
And since too much of a bright thing is never good, I'll do separate posts for each colour.
The first one is Nyx Louisiana.
It's a warm toned bright fuchsia, which it's gorgeous for every day!

It's got a cream/matte-ish finish and it's kinda moisturizing (as most nyx lipsticks are).

It is brighter than the swatches in real life.

It also stains.

A tiny bit.

So you'll have more pink lips than what you usually have when you take it off.

Which is cool.

And as I said in the beginning it brightens your face!

(as in if you wear just that, and no other makeup item you'll still be cool to go out, even if there are some dark circles under your eyes due to not sleeping)

Let's all hope there's gonna be some sun tomorrow, so I can do some proper swatches.

Of lipsticks and face cosmetics.

Why?

Because I discovered that I hate Essie polishes. There. I said it. They make amazing colours, but the formula is sooo blah!And they stain your nails like crazy, even after 2 coats of base coat. I now have bright orange nails. Pf.

I wear a heart on my sleeve...And what else is going on!

Hello!
Quick post today, just things that have happened the past week...
1.Exams are over. The ended on Friday. I did well in all of them. Exhausted and happy!Also I've been having a cold for 3 weeks.It is annoying.
2.I changed my twitter username, so I'm now MsRiaaa .If you have twitter and want to read more randomness come and let's be twitter friends.
3.Speaking of twitter, A weathered penny held a contest the other day and I won and it arrived on Friday, so it was home waiting for me when I came back from uni...
I won a red heart bracelet and I'm in love with it. It's so pretty and elegant and I haven't taken it off since Friday.

And it went on my left wrist with my star and moon(stone) bracelet, which I have on for 4 years.

4.My nails have been treated to a mani, since they went through a bad time during the exams, so I decided to go for red (Saucy by Eyeko- review coming soon) so that it'll fit the bracelet.

5.I baked! Apple pie with whipped cream. Nom!

The story of Elegant, the polish.

Sunday is here.
The last week of the finals begins tomorrow.
And the best way to a great beginning is good looking hands.Since I'll write the one exam left with them.
For this mani I picked something goldish, but not the usual extravagant glittery holo loves of mine.
I decided to take it down a notch and go for something more subtle, elegant, matte dare I say, and yet, shiny!
Mememe's Elegant nail polish it was.
And since my nails were done on a break (and dried in less than a minute), I took the polish bottle for a walk in the wild. Just because.
Here's what happened...

The weather was frightful...Rain was about to fall...

Alas, the polish wanted to enjoy nature.

And so did my nails, because when they have gold on, they're showoffs. And when the gold is an onecoater like this case, they like to show off even more.(You can click on the pics for more detail on the polish)

The polish brush went out to look for a place to hide just in case rain started falling. It looked left...

And right... (yes it's a wide flat brush. I like its brush. It's fun.)

And booo!
The monster came out of the trees.

And the polish fainted, so I had to revive it.

Polish and I are ok now.
